Words for Life

March 15, 2011: Faith is a flashlight in darkness. -Dominique Beaumonte’

September 20, 2010: Sometimes you hold on to things because you do not want people to view you as a quitter. You are doing much more damage than you are good! Release those things that don’t bring value to your life. You will have more opportunities to prove yourself tTO YOURSELF!

August 6, 2010: Get linked up with an “encourager.” You are doing yourself a disservice if you only surround yourself with people who make you feel comfortable… You need someone to ENCOURAGE YOU! FIND SOMEONE WHO PUSHES YOU!!

July 28, 2010: Life goes on. Think about a difficult situation that you have that you thought you would never make it through… If you made it, that ought to build your faith. Do not get stuck in all that is happening today, to the point where you cannot make moves for tomorrow. LIFE goes on. Change your attitude!

May 10, 2010: Always be cognizant of people who attempt to diminish your accomplishments and dreams. There are many people who don’t want you as competition and/or their equal so they use the power of words to slow you down! ..Even more people who become slaves to what people say they can’t do! Thats probably why cars don’t fly yet.

May 5, 2010: Justa  few thoughts about giving…

April 27, 2010: It’s YOUR responsibility to take the necessary steps to make sure that you are not deceived by evil people! YOu have to guard your heart, stay in prayer and read the Bible. God has given the most powerful words but we have to know them and apply them to our lives in order to be strong!

April 26, 2010: Don’t waste your time wishing you had someone else’s life… especially if they have not had to endure anything… Especially if you don’t know their business… Powerful, well-positioned, educated, highly talented and wealthy people are jumping off bridges every day! PURSUE the peace of God! Pursue God!

March 14, 2010: It’s good to know the difference between talent and anointing. There is a difference between being “POWERFUL” and being anointed. Powerful people can choose which way to use their influence but ANOINTING translates in one way! It BREAKS! It DESTROYS! anointing is not passive! Co-Pastor Suzie Owens weighs in!

March 9, 2010: Jeremiah 2:13 “For MY PEOPLE have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of LIVING WATERS, and hewed them out vessels, broken vessels, that can hold no water…” Think about that. What powerless, inoperable thing have you forsook God for?

March 3, 2010 I think God appreciates when we call him names! I love adressing God in whatever way that I need him to come through for me! I love calling him healer, deliverer, powerful, doctor, lawyer…. all those great names man relies on other men for, I rely on God! He can do anything! ANYTHING! ANYTHING!

February 25, 2010 Take some time to reevaluate any unrealistic expectations for your significant other. If you want to drive in the fast lane, you need to lose the bike… #RandomDominiqueThought

February 24, 2010: This is totally awesome! Check out the teaching of Kim Walker-Smith. She talks about worship and song choice. I think she says some awesome things!

I am very sensitive to things that don’t edify the body. I think a worship leader ought to encourage corporate worship so som,e songs are just inappropriate. I need to think of a few examples…. Like, “We fall Down” is not a song I feel is appropriate for corporate worship. I am sure it encourages people and it does indirectly give credit to God buts not about God. It’s about a fallen saint. LOL.. one of my former pastors wanted nothing to do with that song!

February 24, 2010: This I recall to my mind,  Therefore I have hope. The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,  For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning;  Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,  “Therefore I have hope in Him.”

I love this!

February 23, 2010: Life goes on. You will never get to where you are meant to go if you stop at every rest stop. Keep it pushing! Don’t look back if its going to slow you down! I thought about the first time I applied to graduate school. I had my eyes set on one school. The school invited me to visit and even offered me a job. Two weeks later I received a letter saying that I was denied acceptance. It was very discouraging at the time. in fact, I quit applying to grad schools and started looking for jobs. I never lost sight of my goal and a year later I got accepted to several grad schools. Now that I have the degree, I look back and thank God for persistance and faith. Had I focused on the failure, I wouldn’t be celebrating the success! Praise GOD!

January 23, 2010: This may not be something you didn’t know but I still thought I would share. Fortunate for us, we do not serve a God who does not know us intimately. Recently God impressed upon my heart to do something to strengthen my personal ministry and I was so excited about the result of my obedience. I love sharing.. as you may already know! I want to tell all of you what God is doing but I can’t in this particular instance because it is something God told ME and I don’t want to discourage anyone else or make them think they are doing something wrong… you know what I am saying! Church people have the tendency to want to make these blanket rules that really come in between people coming to Christ. I don’t want that! I wonder if any one else can identify?

January 13, 2010: I got this from a friend and thought it was a great read! Enjoy and be blessed!

By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead.. You’ve got to know when it’s dead.

You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something… I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to……

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains …….

If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth……

If someone has angered you.

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge…..

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction… ..

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents

If you have a bad attitude…. …

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better……

If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him………

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship. ….

If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves.. ….

If you’re feeling depressed and stressed ………….

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying ‘take your hands off of it,’ then you need to……

‘The Battle is the Lord’s!’

During the next 60 seconds, Stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity..

(Literally it is only ONE minute!)

Ask God to remove anything out of your life that is not for your good.

January 11, 2010: What a day this is! Another day that you did nothing to deserve. God is so faithful! What will you do to show him that you appreciate the gift that he has given you!?

January 5, 2009: Check out this tribute to Rev. Timothy Wright with Kirk Franklin.

January 4, 2009: I have been hearing a lot of catchy cliches created to give people unrealistic expectations for the new year. Stuff like “New house and car in 2010..” Shut up! What you really need for the new year is a renewed attitude with a biblical foundation. You need to go to church. You need to study the Bible and you need to get into a bible-based church and pray.

December 17, 2009: How much faith do you have! If life and death is in the power of your tongue, when will you start speaking LIFE!

December 16, 2009: This is a great interview with Evangelist Lillian Loyd. She leads the song, One More Chance wit Ricky Dillard. I thought you might enjoy this… especially those who sing!

November 29, 2009: Good morning. God is good ALL of the time! The most fascinating thing about God is that he has the proven ability to be everywhere you need him to be when you need him. Other important people in your life are not able to be at more than one place at a time so you are only able to depend on them to a certain extent. God is omnipresent. Whats so great is that he makes his presence known! Have you ever felt the calming presence of God in the middle of a difficult situation? HE IS THERE! HE IS HERE!

November 25, 2009: What if God charged us for all that he gives us! What if we had to pay to breathe? How long ago would you have been gone? We cannot repay God for what he does for us but there are some things that we CAN do! We can worship him with our lifestyle! We can take time out of our day to thank him. We can use our resources (money, talent) to build our local ministry.. the list goes on! What will you do today?

November 3, 2009: What do people mean when they say, “Accept what God allows.” I kinda get it but I am not certain the premise in which it is used is Biblical. Evidence: Get into Mark 5. Didn’t God allow Jairus daughter to die? What if Jairus accepted his daughters death and didn’t put his faith into practice…? When Jesus raised Jairus Daughter up, he said, Just a thought. There countless examples.

I think sometimes people use such terms to confuse or stall faith. I accept that God is almighty and all knowing but I also believe that he wants us to take heed to Hebrews 4:16…”Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

So, I accept where I am but I am bold enough to believe that God can change my circumstance if I obtain favor…and he chooses to have mercy on me when I need him.

October 6, 2009: A little testimony!

September 24, 2009: Feeling discouraged about your vision? Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Thanks for the Reminder Sis. Stephanie!

September 15, 2009 I got a little revelation. As many of you may might know, I had a little laptop issue that God fixed for me a few weeks ago! In the process I lost all of my old pictures, music and documents. Surprisingly enough, I have not thought much about the things I lost until today! Even though many of those items were near and dear to me and the product of great effort, I can OBVIOUSLY live without them! Some things, people, and places are temporary in that they are not meant to last forever! God, on the other hand is the ONLY consistent feature in our lives. Everything else is subject to crashing and burning! Thanks God for that revelation! Thak you God for showing me (AGAIN) that you are all I need and that starting over is not all that bad!

September 1, 2009: Got this as a forward! Good read!

SATAN’S MEETING: (Read even if you’re busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, “We can’t keep Christians from going to church. We can’t keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth…. We can’t even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior. Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken. So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ..”

“This is what I want you to do,” said the devil:

“Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining
that vital connection throughout their day!”

“How shall we do this?” his demons shouted.

“Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds,” he answered…

“Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.”

“Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.”

“Keep them from spending time with their children.”

“As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!”

“Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.”

“Entice them to play the radio or I-Pod whenever they drive.” To keep the TV, DVDs, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly.”

“This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ.”

“Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.”

“Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.”

“Invade their driving moments with billboards.”

“Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.”

“Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what’s important, and they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives. “

“Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night.”

“Give them headaches too! “

“If they don’t give their husbands the love they need, they will
begin to look elsewhere.”

“That will fragment their families quickly!”

“Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas.”

“Give them an Easter bunny so they won’t talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death…”

“Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.”

“Have them return from their recreation exhausted.”

“Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God’s creation.

Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead.”

“Keep them busy, busy, busy!”

“And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences..”

“Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus.”

“Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause.”

“It will work!”

“It will work!”

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes? You be the judge!!!!! Does “BUSY” mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan’s Y-oke? Please pass this on, if you aren’t too BUSY!

I LOVE reading the Bible! I am so inspired by what I learn and I have been getting some CRAZY biblical revelations later! May as well share them!

August 18, 2009: My bedroom is under construction and things are EVERYWHERE! While preparing for work, I sliced the bottom of my foot on a curtain rod lying on the floor. While it caused me a little bit of uncomfortableness and bleeding, I had to believe that there might be something God wanted me to learn from this. Weird, I know. All day I was thinking about this and on my way home from work, I thought about breaking that curtain rod into pieces and God spoke to me! Sometimes we direct our energy in the wrong direction. Breaking or disposing of that curtain rod would do nothing to erase the pain my foot has been feeling. It would also require me to pay for a new rod. I think that often we waste our time, effort and resources trying to repay others for the pain they have caused us rather than addressing the real issue and doing what is necessary to heal.

So, I’m going to eliminate the possibility of being hurt again by picking that rod off the floor and I’m going to get some alcohol and cotton balls and nurse my “ouchy.” HOLLA!

August 14, 2009 8:49 a.m.: If God is in the business of forgiving people and you are a child of his.. perhaps you should consider emulating him!

August 14, 2009: Some people are SOOOOO vulnerable! I believe Wholeheartedly that BELIEVERS cannot afford to be weak! We have the tendacy to let just about ANYTHING happen AT CHURCH! Let us recall Jesus’ reaction to those trading in the church… Luke 19:45 Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a ROBBERS’ DEN.” We let people defame the Name of God right in church! All of these $50.25 prayer lines and seed sowings… and chicken dinners… and nobody discerns the enemy in all of it!

August 13, 2009: Who remembers that cut, “God Don’t Need No Matches… Fire by himself!!!” Took me back to my good roots where the mothers would do tag-team singing… “It’s gettttting late in the eeeeeevenin’… and the suuuuuuuuuuuuuun is almost down! The stuff that kids are allowed to do now baffles to me. At Greater Revival COGIC… the kids sat RIGHT across from the missionaries… There was no “back0-pewing” or running to the corner store!

August 11, 2009:Today I read about King Manasseh. He was a king that did not have any respect for God until he got caught up in a difficult situation. God had already forewarned him about the results of his actions but he could care less. One day, all of his mess caught up with him and he reaped all that he sowed. In the midst of his situation, he prayed an awesome prayer that God HEARD! (I thought y’all said God doesn’t hear sinner’s prayers!) God has mercy on him and he cashed in that mercy and fixed his wrong! I like that story! Don’t you want to repay God for hsi mercy? You can do so with your life.

August 5, 2009 2:51 p.m. Are you waisting time talking about all of the people you think are talking about you? STOP!

July 27, 2009 11:38 a.m. Sometimes I have to back track and review decisions that I have made to make sure I that my current environment/attitude did not have an affect on the decision made. Get it? Like, I have to  review the list of people I block on FB, phone numbers I delete, and the people I have to tell off! Then, go fix any problem I may have created.

July 27, 2009 8:04 a.m. What if today was your last day? Too many people think they are going to live forever so they are “planning” to change “later.” The only guarantee you have is “NOW!” Do something powerful and productive with whats yours!

July 22, 2009 9:02 a.m. I need people to spill the beans rather than taking me in circles for shock value! I am dedicating this thought to my guy Sean.. who is good for dropping clues and asking me to “GUESS” about 20 times before we get to the bottom line. By the time we get there, I am exhausted and don’t care!

July 12. 2009 9:08 p.m. Life is love. Everybody ought to have some!

July 9, 2009 4:47 p.m. I hate to hear people ranting on and on about how they have haters! Haters this.. haters that! Since you know they don’t care for you.. why would you spend so much time investing in them! RELEASE! I don’t have haters… once you get to that level… you dissappear! People put posession on people that don’t like them..”Those are MY haters..” If you are hating on me… you are your own hater!

July 8, 2009 2:49 p.m.It’s amazing how many students are interested in the forensic sciences. I am wondering what this will mean for 5-10 years out… I wish I was a math guy.. I’d go for Nutritional Biology… that kinda intrigues me a bit.

July 8, 2009 7:24 a.m. You have more to gain than you have to lose! Try! Try! TRY! I hate when people don’t TRY! I would rather say that I tried and failed than to say that I failed because I was too much of a coward to try! Now, I am not about to try bungee jumping or anything foolish but you know what I am saying! Technically life is not too short because you only have the days God has given you! LIVE in them!

July 7, 2009 11:47 One of the greatest albums of my lifetime.. Boys II Men’s “II”… Used to pop this tape in in middle scool and listen to “50 Candles,” “Water Runs Dry,” “On Bended Knee,” “Trying Times,” and “I’ll make Love to You.” Who remembers this album?

July 6, 3009 10:45 a.m.Marriage is so disrespected these days! Maybe I should move back my weddinmg date to 11.11.11! 10.10.10 might be too soon! I might need to run wild a little while longa!

July 6, 2009 8:33 a.m. Ok, I had the wierdest dream last night! I can’t even go into it but what I remember was that there were 8 white children doing silent protests throughout this city… they had candles lit… towards the end of the dream, I escaped this city and found a Dollar Tree. I don’t think I sleep very heavy… HGTV was on so this could have been something on TV!

July 4, 2009 12:20 a.m.I always feel like a loser on Friday nights… but I look, feel and smell better than the winners on Saturday morning… Or at least thats what I’ll keep telling myself until I move to a more vibrant city.

July 3, 2009 10:42 .M. Ilove Whitney’s song, “I didn’t Know My Own Strength.” Think about what people do when they don’t really have a sense of how powerful they are! Whitney si the greatest example! Well, we all are great examples!

July 2, 2009 9:57 a.m. Remember that song, “Where do broken hearts gooo?” well, that just popped in my head and has NOTHING to do with my life personally but I was wanted to sing it! LOL! Speaking of random songs… I remember when BeBe and CeCe Winans sang “gospel” songs that didn’t have the name Jesus in them! Remember “I’m Lost Without You?”

July 1, 2009 10:23 p.m. It’s safe to say that I am addicted to Gatorade G2 Blueberry-Pomegranate. In addition, I believe God spoke to me through the life of Optimus Prime… of Transformers! On a random note, I have DeBarge’s “Love Me in a Special Way” ringing down in my soul!

July 1, 2009 2:20 p.m. All you need is a little faith in God! He is ABLE to do ANYTHING! ANYTHING! ANYTHING! If you can have it he can healt and solve it! You couldn’t ask for a better God! I am SO encouraged!

June 30, 2009 1:35 p.m. Some people don’t trust you because they don’t trust themselves! I have to remind myself OFTEN that I not like other people and other people aren’t like me!

June 24, 2009 1:25 p.m. The reason I can’t deal with being put on hold is because I think it is rude! Has nothing to do with being patient. I can wait all night… I just don’t want to! I don’t want to waste my time being on hold for 10 minutes when you can just call me back when you are done with your other call!

June 23, 2009 (8:40 p.m.) Not cute to be a coward! Don’t let anyone ever make you think it is! Cowards have no character! They are wimps! They are not respected! People are afraid to be loyal to them because they are too weak to have a backbone! I am begging you to be a MAN or WOMAN and be courageous!

June 22, 2009 (11:4 a.m.) I do not aspire to be a D-list celebrity.. I already am! I’m comfortable with my status and I am moving on up! Ok, ok, ok.. SO I don’t have that many fans and no one knows who I am! That really doesn’t matter because I am my biggest fan and I happen to know who I am! Who else matters!

The hype about Iphones is stiffled by how horrible of a company AT&T is! Apple should entertain new bids for 4G!

June 22, 2009 (9:11 a.m.) You have to find ways to bring “LIFE” to your life whether that means that you are surrounding yourself with great and lively people or you are finding ways to be more content with who you are in the absence of others!

June 22, 2009 (12:37 a.m.) Nobody is required to love you better than you are! You have to love you first! Waiting for somebody else to do it is for the birds! They can’t do it right until you are prepared to teach them how!

June 21, 2009 (8:31 p.m.) Is it true? are the  BEST things in life are absolutely free!? Can you imagine having to pay for ketchup at your favorite fast food restaurant or twenty-five cents to take a swig at the water fountain to quench your thirst? Yes, you will have to pay for both of these items should you need them in bulk or want the convenience of just carrying water to avoid the tap. My point is that if you REALLY needed these items, all it would take is a little effort to get them without charge. Free is so subjective. Nothing really free! You got to pay for everything that you want in life. If it doesn’t cost a little change.. it costs a little effort. If it doesn’t cost a little effort it cost a little time! Considering the things most of us want in life that we were taught are free, we have the huge task of deciding whats most important to us and paying the price without whining or complaining!
