Zoe Saldana Featured in Harper’s Bazaar UK – October 2012

I love Zoe Saldana! I am not sure why people are going hard on her for the Nina Simone role. It’s not like she catsed herself or that she looks any lighter than Mary J. Blige… but whatever.

With her new movie “The Words” having made its way into theaters earlier this month, Zoe Saldana pitched in on promotions by landing herself a feature in the October 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine.

The 34-year-old actress donned a Giorgio Armani wool jacket with cotton and wool trousers for the chic Koray Birand shot spread while dishing about everything from her onscreen chemistry with Bradley Cooper to her penchant for choosing ‘stronger’ looks when it comes to clothing.
Highlights from Miss Saldana’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Harper’s Bazaar UK!

On her liking of stronger, more masculine looks:
“I strive for that balance between my masculine and feminine energy. As a woman, owning your male side as much as your female side allows you to make better use of your power.”

On sitting next to Sophia Loren at the Armani Prive show:
“My grandmother was a seamstress, and so were my great grandmother and my mother. Growing up, everything we wore was handmade, as we didn’t have the money to buy things. My grandmother would make us blazers and jackets, and she always used to say, ‘I want you to wear that outfit like Sophia Loren.’ And there was Sophia herself, sitting right there, with such elegance, so regal.”

On her onscreen chemistry with Bradley Cooper:
“There are certain people that, when you meet, your personalities click… and you feel so comfortable making a fool of yourself. Bradley and I are very honest with each other… and I love that.”
